A Japanese garden requires a gate, and passing through this gate allows one to step into the garden, instantly feeling a different atmosphere that invites moments of tranquility. The client presented a picture expressing their desire for a custom-made gate. Thus, we took on this order for a customized large wooden structure.
設計與考量
日式門要放在室外，與土地接觸，且需經受天氣影響，因此在材質和結構上需要經過特別設計。主結構使用木榫方式處理，不僅強度高，未來維修也更加方便，而這些都需師傅手工完成。
Design and Considerations
The Japanese gate is designed to be outdoors, in contact with the ground, and must withstand weather conditions. Therefore, the materials and structure require special consideration. The main structure is handled using mortise and tenon joints, which not only provide high strength but also make future repairs more convenient. All of these processes are completed by skilled craftsmen by hand.

這扇客製化的日式門藏有許多巧思，例如不對稱的榫接支撐主結構，以及訂製木釘，這些都讓整件木作更堅固。

This customized Japanese gate contains many clever designs, such as asymmetric tenon joints supporting the main structure and custom-made wooden pegs, which enhance the overall sturdiness of the piece.
Most importantly, the gate utilizes aged wood that has been stored for many years for its beams and columns. This not only imparts an ancient charm but also the stability of the wood after long-term storage is a key reason for choosing this type of aged material.

塗裝與保護
木作產品的塗裝，也稱為噴漆，不僅有美觀效果，還能保護天然的木質纖維，使木作長久使用。這款客製化日式門的塗裝使用天然的透明油料，手工多次擦拭，讓塗層保護放在室外的木材，手工擦拭的效果也讓人感覺更自然。
Coating and Protection
The coating process for wood products, also known as painting, not only enhances the appearance but also protects the natural wood fibers, ensuring the longevity of the woodwork. This customized Japanese gate is finished with natural transparent oil, which is hand-applied in multiple layers to protect the outdoor wood. The hand-rubbed finish also adds a more natural feel to the wood.
運送安全
產品必須安全交付到客戶手中才算完成。在包裝訂製木作時，我們對每個部分都進行妥善保護，使用合適的棧板，並在重要結構位置加裝臨時的支撐木條，確保運送過程中的安全。
Safe Delivery
A product is only considered complete once it has been safely delivered to the customer. During the packaging of customized woodwork, we ensure that every part is adequately protected. We use appropriate pallets and add temporary support braces at critical structural points to guarantee safety during transportation.
