The unique charm of a cypress wood table often comes with deep emotions and memories. As seen in the photos, the table’s bottom had long been exposed to a damp environment, resulting in severe termite invasion. The termite bites left uneven cavities on the wood’s surface, accompanied by large black mold stains. These issues posed potential risks to the overall structural integrity. Additionally, the table surface, due to natural aging and wood deformation, had developed cracks and an uneven texture, with visible height differences that compromised both the aesthetics and functionality of the table.

The restoration process began with professional termite eradication to completely eliminate the pest problem and prevent future infestations. Following this, based on the damage to the structure, new custom wooden legs were crafted and installed to strengthen the table’s base, ensuring its stability and safety. More importantly, the underside of the table allows for ventilation, which effectively prevents termite infestations. The new legs were seamlessly integrated with the original wood, maintaining the table’s natural appearance while extending its lifespan.
For the uneven surface and cracks caused by long-term use, Bokto’s expert team manually planed the surface to carefully smooth out the height differences, allowing the natural grain of the wood to re-emerge. Cracks were professionally filled and repaired, restoring the surface to a smooth and even state. A final coat of paint was applied, providing enhanced protection and a polished appearance.

Given the irregular shape and large size of the cypress table, safely transporting it back to the client’s home presented a significant challenge.
