You may have encountered a table full of white marks. These marks, typically circular in various sizes, are caused by the heat from items like mugs, teacups, and pots placed on the table, damaging the surface lacquer and leaving white traces on the table.
In this case, the Bokto team restored a coffee table frequently used for dining. This table had various white marks, mostly from placing hot soups or dishes on it. Over the years, the table’s surface had become mottled with large blotches.
After restoration, the heat marks were completely removed, making the living room table look as good as new.
We also made significant improvements to the protective lacquer, enhancing the depth of color, transparency, and hardness of the paint, which overall improved the quality of the table’s finish. These enhancements help reduce future discoloration of the coffee table surface due to heat.
As long as the internal wood of solid furniture is not rotten or damaged, it can be restored. The damage to this dining table was mainly on the surface lacquer. Bokto’s craftsmen manually removed the surface layer of paint, revealing the original wood grain, and then reapplied the finish.
With the evolution of lacquer from earlier products to modern ones, the quality has improved, now focusing more on displaying the natural style of the wood grain.
From the uneven blotchy condition to the removal of the surface coating and the final finish, you can see the skillful craftsmanship of the craftsmen.
As long as furniture remains functional, repairs can breathe new life into them.
