Introduction
Rubberwood, originally from the Amazon, is now a widely cultivated economic species in Southeast Asia. This wood is not only valued for its ability to produce natural rubber from its sap but also favored by manufacturers for its excellent paint finishing qualities. Rubberwood is particularly suited for making solid wood products that require paint treatments, providing a good surface gloss and lasting finish.
However, care must be taken when using rubberwood in high humidity areas, as it is relatively prone to deformation. To optimize its use, smaller pieces of rubberwood are often joined to form larger boards, enhancing the overall stability of the material and allowing for the production of larger furniture items.
Its natural color is primarily pale yellow, with common surface features including short cross-grain lines or dark stippled patterns around pores, without significant color variation in the grain.
