Introduction
Taiwan Acacia, also known as Taiwanese Sandalwood, belongs to the same family as the precious sandalwood and boasts a smooth, delicate texture with a unique shimmering luster that exudes elegance. The growth rings of acacia are clearly visible, with wood composed of a dark brown heartwood and a milky white outer layer, often with the bark retained to create a natural and contrasting feature.
Acacia wood is solid, durable, and resistant to decay, even possessing therapeutic properties. From its past use as railway sleepers and agricultural tools to its current role in natural furniture selection, acacia’s applications are increasingly diverse. It is also commonly found along roadsides as ornamental trees, windbreaks, and greening species.
The quality of Taiwanese Acacia is comparable to Rosewood and African Teak, featuring a hard and fine texture with a slight reddish hue, visually similar to teak and walnut. It can be found in Fujian and northern Philippines, but the quality of native Taiwanese Acacia is recognized as the best in the world.
